God Is Good. The best worship songs come from personal experience. I wrote this song in the wake of losing my nephew to cancer as a reminder that God is good, even in the dark times. I didn't intend to ever share it publicly, but it seems right to do so now. I hope that it will be a blessing to you. Feel free to reproduce the music for your worship team and to send other worship leaders to the site.

I would love to hear your comments. Here's what others are saying about "God Is Good."

Phil Keaggy- "Love it Bob. It's timeless--God Is Good!"
Matt Lundgren (Willow Creek Church, IL)- "I just wanted to send you a quick note to say thanks for passing God Is Good our way. I really enjoyed both the recording and the honest place in your soul that it was birthed out of. Blessings in your ministry."
Steve Deal (City Church, Atlanta, GA)- "That's a really nice song Bob, the recording is great as well!"
Frank Hernandez (Music Machine, SilverWind, etc.)- "I appreciate the simplicity and yet the depth of the truth found in your lyrics! May the Lord use this song to bless many!"
Bill Johnson (Bethel Church, Redding, CA)- "Just listened to it and enjoyed it very much. It is our language!"
Pastor Wayne (Living Waters Worship Center, AL)- "I have just played this song & I LOVE IT! It is simple, yet profound. The words are touching & I can see why it would be such a personal experience. We will definitely use this in our church."
Pastor Randy (Praise Assembly, WI)- "What a wonderful, generous gift to the church! Thank you so much for sharing your song. We will surely teach it to our worship team and to our church. The message is something our church could really use right now. We need to be reminded that God really is good and that His plans for us are good no matter what happens in this world."
Harry Thomas (Creation Fest, PA)- "I loved your new worship song. You're right, the best songs come out of times of personal experience. I really was blessed."
Glenn Yamaguchi (New Hope Hawaii)- "I liked the song, it is something we can sing congregationally that affirms a basic truth we can forget in difficult times. I'll forward it to my worship leaders."
Claire (California)- "As you know I'm not a worship leader but I thought you'd be interested in my response. I sometimes lead our Saturday women's bible study group in a worship chorus or two. Last week, we were just back from our daughter's wedding and I told the leader I was planning to attend, and her quick response was, can you lead a song? Because of the wedding planning I hadn't been attending the studies, so I didn't really know a theme or what has been going on with the group, so I replied that I'd try to come up with something. I closed that email and the next one in my inbox was from you with the new song. It was simple enough that I could learn it with a couple listens. And I found myself humming it the next day. I taught it on Saturday and people seemed to like it. I keep humming it, or just repeating the ÒGod is goodÓ phrase, and it's been lifting me up."
Tod (Lake City Church, Idaho)- "Great song! Simple and accessible for corporate worship Ð but with a timeless truth to shareÉ We'll be singing it."
Bruce (Foursquare, Washington)- "This song is a real tribute to how we ought to process the death of saint, which the scripture says, however painful it is to us, is precious in the eyes of the Lord. God is good. I will forward your song to my worship team."
Will (AG, California)- "I grew up in the 80's singing "In My Life, Lord, Be Glorified" and "Here Am I" in church and in my own private worship. Now I can teach "God Is Good." It really is a memorable tune. It's easy to move right into a mood of worship. Thanks for sharing your heart with us!"
Brandon (Calvary Chapel, WA)- "Its epic. I am going to try it at my church this week."
Flo (Georgia)- "I love the song "God is Good." It should be a big hit! It's the kind of song that's really easy to sing along." (BK: She's my aunt so she's a little biased in my favor)
